Office 365: Retiring TLS 1.0 and 1.1

As Microsoft already communicated in October 2017 (MC124104), December 2017 (MC126199) and February 2018 (MC128929), they announced again the move of all their online services to Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2+ to provide best-in-class encryption, and to ensure their service is more secure by default.

In this announcement, Microsoft said that TLS 1.0 and 1.1 will be retired in Office 365 Worldwide and GCC starting on June 1, 2020.

What is the impact for you and your users?

Office 365 will stop working for all connections using the protocols TLS 1.0 and 1.1, starting June 1, 2020.

What we need to do for preparation?

You need to update or replace clients and devices that rely on TLS 1.0 and 1.1 for connections to Office 365, prior to June 1, 2020.

Additional Information on how to prepare your environment for TLS 1.2 can be found on the Microsoft TechNet/Docs.
